    Drawing on his style and technique you will be guided through this session to create an original version of your own, based on Briggs' fabulous Father Christmas and also The Snowman We will look at examples of the artist's work to gain an understanding of the characteristics and traits of their work and how we might carry that forward and use similar methods in our own work Sun 29th March 7pm - The Elephant and the Bad Baby What do I need?     Wayne Thiebaud (1920-2021) is now considered to be one of the greatest and most original American artists of the 20th century. Over the course of his long life, working mainly in Sacramento, California, Thiebaud developed a unique style of painting to express his vision of modern American subjects. We'll aim to replicate one of their classic works. We may choose a whole painting or a section to complete and you will enjoy an evening creating something similar to a great master! What do I need? Her lifework is of immeasurable value because of the success she made as a writer, artist and cartoonist. She was a multi-talented artist who is mostly remembered as the creator of the Moomins. The Moomin books have been translated into over fifty languages. In this gently guided session we'll try out some of the techniques that the great artists used to define their unique styles. We'll aim to replicate one of their classic works. We may choose a whole painting or a section to complete and you will enjoy an evening creating something similar to a great master!     A founder member of the Blue Rider, the art group at the heart of German Expressionism that also included Kandinsky and Franz Marc, Münter developed a spontaneous painting method that captured the essence of things. In this gently guided session we'll try out some of the techniques that the great artists used to define their unique styles. We'll aim to replicate one of their classic works. We may choose a whole painting or a section to complete and you will enjoy an evening creating something similar to a great master! Sun 15th March 7pm - Still Life in Grey What do I need? We try to keep the requirements very simple to ensure the sessions are as accessible as possible Acrylic: Acrylic Paint - Primary Colours plus black and white (we will guide for colour mixing) A small selection of brushes Water pot Cloth Tutor - Liddy graduated from Derby University in 2005 after gaining a BA Hons Degree in Illustration. She completed her PGCE before embarking on a 10 year secondary school art teaching career in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. She is currently undertaking a course in the History of Art. Liddy left teaching to start her own business Something Less Boring in 2017 to bring art and sport to a wider audience Liddy lives in Buckinghamshire delivering art and creative drawing workshops as well as relaxing Sip & Paint evenings. She also produces contemporary abstract art and papercut work, undertaking commissions too.
