    Sip & Paint at The Ship Inn Step back in time in The Ship a traditional English pub, a charming establishment dating back to the 16th century. Nestled in the heart of the historic market town of Oundle, the pub boasts original oak beams and a large inglenook fireplace, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. 2026 Thurs 26th March 7.45pm - Watercolour Wildflowers Our pub/cafe art workshops are an ideal way for beginners or improvers to enjoy an evening of creativity as well as learning a range of techniques in a warm welcoming environment You'll be guided through by our very friendly, and knowledgeable art tutor, Liddy. You are free to take as much guidance as you like, but we certainly won't restrict your creative flair By the end of the evening, you will have some new skills and your own piece of wall worthy art. Our events are recommended for anyone over the age of 14 . However, please advise in the booking notes us if you are booking for anyone under the age of 18 as each venue has different licensing rules. Liddy is the creative force and main tutor with Something Less Boring. She is a qualified Illustrator and also a qualified teacher. Liddy taught art for over 10 years at secondary school level before leaving to found Something Less Boring in 2017 with the aim of bringing art and sport to all ages regardless of ability in a fun, creative and inclusive way. Since April 2020 we estimate that Liddy has taught close to 500 online art sessions! Some of my fondest childhood memories are those spent with my siblings creating stories, drawing illustrations and making books. I guess it was from here that a profound love for all things creative was born and nurtured."

  • The Terrarium Workshop

    Hosted by the fabulous Ade & Emily from Tiny Terra in this lovely class you'll learn the different steps of terrarium making as you create your very own self-sustaining wonderland. 2026 Thurs 12th March 7.45pm Thurs 12th November 7.45pm In the 2 hour session where you will get your hands dirty & build your own living terrarium. We’ll guide you through each layer whilst teaching you the history & purpose behind each aspect of the terrarium. You can let your creative side flourish and build your terrarium however you desire. We’ll supply you with a beautiful range of terrarium specific plants & hardscape to ensure your eco system has the healthiest future ahead!   • Brewpoint - Weekly Art Club

    We love coming to Brewpoint so much, we decided to make a weekly visit too! Running from 10am to 12noon we'll provide all the materials for you to paint the week's theme, expertly guided by Liddy. Grab yourself a coffee, have a natter and get creative...maybe stay for a spot of lunch? Our weekly art clubs are very relaxed and social there's no necessity to join us every week to enjoy the sessions we will fully work through a painting at each morning event. Each week will be a different subject based within a broad three week plan,  we don't advertise the subject to allow for last minute changes and suggestions from the group, which we welcome.  Course Tutor - Liddy graduated from Derby University in 2005 after gaining a BA Hons Degree in Illustration. She completed her PGCE before embarking on a 10 year secondary school art teaching career in Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. She is currently undertaking a course in the History of Art. Liddy left teaching to start her own business Something Less Boring in 2017 to bring art and sport to a wider audience Liddy lives in Buckinghamshire delivering art and creative drawing workshops as well as relaxing Sip & Paint evenings. She also produces contemporary abstract art and papercut work, undertaking commissions too.

    During this day course at Keko Club in Newport Pagnell we will introduce and practice a wide range of watercolour techniques then move on to applying them in a selection of practice works We'll cover equipment, preparation, resources, sourcing materials and of course techniques, tips and tricks.   • Sip & Paint - Brewpoint

    Brewpoint is Wells & Co's state-of-the-art brewing facility and tap room on the outskirts of Bedford, it's modern and bright, but with a real cosy feel too. Come along and enjoy a couple of hours painting at the gently guided by Liddy, who will show you tips and tricks to get the best out of that inner creativity! All materials are provided, plus the first drink is on us! Just show up and have fun! Brewpoint also has lovely range of food, so why not make a full evening of it and drop in for a pizza before you paint.   • Robin & Holly Needle Felt Workshop

    Dive into the world of needle felting with our Robin & Holly workshop. Over two hours in this relaxing felting class, you will learn the art of transforming something as simple as wool into a stunning masterpiece. Don't worry if you've never tried felting before - this workshop is designed for beginners. Our experienced instructor Liddy will guide you through each step, ensuring that you feel confident and inspired. With her expert guidance, you'll learn how to fuse wool fibres into beautiful shapes and blend colours to create depth and texture. We provide all the materials plus blank card to mount your finished piece. We will provide tea, coffee and sweet treats but please feel free to bring along your own refreshments too if you prefer

  • Paint Like...Ensor

    James Sidney Ensor grew up in Ostend, the son of a Belgian mother and an English father. The family rented out guest rooms and ran a souvenir shop selling curiosities. Such as the grotesque carnival masks that would later feature so prominently in his paintings. An important influence on expressionism and surrealism Ensor lived in Ostend for most of his life. He was associated with the artistic group Les XX. Sun 11th Jan - Bathing Hut on the Beach In this gently guided session we'll try out some of the techniques that the great artists used to define their unique styles. We'll aim to replicate one of their classic works. We may choose a whole painting or a section to complete and you will enjoy an evening creating something similar to a great master! What do I need? We try to keep the requirements very simple to ensure the sessions are as accessible as possible ​ Materials: Acrylic paints, primary colours plus black and white Flat brush if available (even a small decorating brush) You'll also need a pot of water, a cloth and a smile!
